The Hoover family ain't got nothing on my family. Snippets from my grandfather's funeral over the weekend:
"At least he didn't bring his fat girlfriend with him."
"Is your cousin gay?"
"I'll talk to anyone who wants to talk to me. But I haven't spoken to my brother in seven years."
"Dad would roll over in his grave if he knew who the pall bearers were."
"Grandma's here; have you said hello to her?"
"No, she can come over here if she wants to talk to me."
All in all, it was a great visit with my family, despite the circumstances that brought us all together. And I brought home a lovely basket of flowers.
