Well, the cake is burned to a crisp, but I don't think it's my fault. I think there is something wrong with the oven. I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but when you are cooking in the kitchen you don't notice the build-up of smoke - at least, not until the damn smoke detector starts going off.
And then, because it's hard wired in the house, every damn smoke detector is going off and I'm running around waving at the smoke and finally I just ripped the suckers right out of the ceiling.
Still don't know what I'm going to do about the burnt cake.
